ELABO GmbH is celebrating its 50th anniversary. Today, the Crailsheim-based company is one of Germany's leading specialists for individual workstation, assembly and testing systems as well as medium-sized smart industry solutions and employs more than 180 people at the company's location in Hohenlohe-Franken. After its founding in 1972, ELABO - the name is composed of "E" for electronics and "LABO" for laboratory - initially manufactured workstations with integrated measuring and testing technology; a few years later, test systems for the quality assurance of electrical devices were added. In the years that followed, the focus increasingly shifted to Industry 4.0-digitized solutions: In 1994, the company developed its first smart industry software, and two years later ELABO was already using fully networked test and inspection lines. At the turn of the millennium, robot and image processing technology was integrated into the test systems for the first time.
A central milestone in the company's history was the development of the elution factory software in 2010: The digital assistance system provides process-relevant information as a worker guidance in real time and also supports automatic assembly plan-specific measuring device parameterization and the integration of entire workstation systems. About two years later, the company achieved another major success in its product development with the functionally and ergonomically optimized primus one workstation solution.
Another important event in the company's history was its integration into the Bott Group from Gaildorf on February 24, 2021. Together, the two companies cover all sectors along the value chain of medium-sized manufacturing companies with their comprehensive service portfolio: from product development and assembly to dispatch. Training and service are also supported - the elution software acts as a comprehensive solution across all areas. In addition, ELABO is currently planning further investments in future product solutions and the Crailsheim company location. In the medium term, the solution portfolio in the assembly area is also to be further focused and supplemented in a targeted manner.
