Students from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology visited ELABO

Mechanical engineering and computer science students work on an IoT platform for engineering applications supported by ELABO

Smart, digitized solutions in the area of individual workstations as well as assembly, inspection and test systems in industrial series production and the topic of Industry 4.0 are topics on which ELABO has been working intensively and successfully for several years.

Close cooperation with research institutes is an integral part of this. For ELABO, this also includes the support of student projects, such as that of the five mechanical engineering and computer science students from the KIT in Karlsruhe, who visited ELABO on February 24th to conclude their project on the topic of "IT system platforms I4.0 / IOT platforms for engineering applications".

The research project dealt with increasing efficiency by means of intelligent Industry 4.0 solutions, complete networking and a consistent flow of information in production. The aim of the project was to reduce errors, increase cycle times, improve efficiency and reduce costs in the assembly process.

The final presentation was followed by a guided tour through the ELABO Innovation Center, the Smart Factory and the production facilities of ELABO GmbH.

For several years now, ELABO has been working closely with research institutions such as the KIT in Karlsruhe, supporting student research projects with hardware and software as well as the know-how of our experts. Among other things, ELABO electrical laboratory systems, ergonomic assembly workstations, measuring and testing devices and the Elution® software are in use at the KIT in Karlsruhe.
