Testing of medical devices

At a glance

  • Elution® Software
  • Protective conductor resistance measurement
  • Insulation resistance measurement
  • High voltage testing
  • Leakage current testing
  • Electrical Power Measurement
  • Light testing
  • Visual tests

Description

The test station is used for testing medical technology devices (EN60601). The devices are tested for electrical safety (PE, ISO, HV, LC), power consumption, interface communication and functionality of the active components in a partially/fully automated manner. Additionally, a measurement and evaluation of the light data of the test object is performed via an integrating sphere. At the test station, the data of the devices under test are read in directly by means of a manual barcode scanner. This identifies the DUT type and the test program loads the associated test plan data and is ready to start. Mains contacting is carried out manually by the operator. In the test bench, the protective conductor test, insulation resistance measurement, high voltage test, leakage current test, electrical power measurement, light test, visual tests are performed. All generated measured values, test plan data and user data are stored and managed centrally on the system computer. The operator can adjust the test system to his ergonomic needs by means of electrical height adjustment.

Safety and performance testing of electrical refrigeration equipment

At a glance

  • Elution® Software

  • Protective conductor resistance measurement (PE)

  • Insulation resistance measurement (IS)

  • Leakage current measurement (LC)

  • Dielectric strength (HV)

  • Functional test (voltage, current and power measurement)

Description

The test system is used for electrical safety and performance testing of electrical refrigeration devices with AC or DC supply. The connection panel with sockets and connectors is used for contacting the test object. At the beginning a manual electrical connection of the test object with the test system is carried out by the operator (plug in the connection field). Control and monitoring is performed via the integrated system computer using the Elution® Software. Similar test steps, e.g. PE, can be present several times with different limit values in the test plan. The structure of the test sequence is variable and can be individually adapted to the test object and the activities required for the test. The Elution® Software provides convenient functions for managing the test plans and measured values. In addition, a powerful statistics module is integrated, which allows an exact evaluation of the test data. The measured values are stored in a local SQL-Express database.

Fully automatic testing of dielectric strength, protective earth connection and power measurement of built-in refrigerators

At a glance

  • Protective conductor test
  • High voltage testing
  • Power measurement
  • Central SQL database
  • Automatic contacting modules
  • Connection to the customer's BDE control system
  • Automated positioning of test fixtures
  • Rationalization of the test sequence

Description

The test system automatically checks the dielectric strength (HV), the protective earth resistance (PE) and the power consumption of the appliances in the refrigerators. The devices to be tested are transported to the test position on pallets via a belt system and placed and fixed there via a pneumatic device. The belt system reports "devices in position" to the ELABO test system via a digital interface and scans the type code (device barcode) of the device to be tested. The type data is reported to the PDA control system. The customer PDA system transfers the relevant test data to the Elution® Software for device-specific testing. In the test portal, the automatic device contacting is carried out via the axis system (mains contacting and PE contacting). After the test has been completed, the test data is automatically reported back to the PDA system. The system rack contains all measuring devices, the system PC, the switching of the test voltages and test currents, and the control of the automatic contacting for mains contacting and PE test adapters.

The system rack contains all measuring devices, the system PC, the switching on and off of the test voltages and test currents, as well as the control of the automatic contacting, the pot simulators and the operating device of the cooktop. A transformer unit is installed in the system rack to perform the HV hot test.In the test portal, the automated contacting and testing of the hob takes place. The operator manually pushes the hob into the test area, stoppers are used to fix the hob in the test position. An automatic barcode scanner scans the type label of the hob and automatically starts the defined test sequence.
The test cells have also been optimized for high product variance.

Semi-automated circulation system for testing cell contacting systems

At a glance

  • Elution® Software
  • Error-free assembly due to worker guidance
  • Continuity check
  • Insulation resistance test
  • High voltage test
  • Component marking with laser

Description

The semi-automated circulation system is composed of various stations through which the test object passes on a workpiece carrier via a conveyor belt. The first station is an insertion station where the test object is inserted, scanned and identified by an RFID system. The worker is guided through the assembly process by the Elution® software.
In the following test station the test object is again identified by means of an RFID system. The workpiece carrier is lifted and indexed, the test object is contacted from below via two contacting units. From above, the test object is also contacted via pneumatic contact pins at up to 36 test points. This is followed by a continuity, insulation resistance and high-voltage test.
The third station in the system is a laser station in which the test object is again identified by the RFID system, the workpiece carrier is lifted out and indexed. "Good" tested objects are lasered with a DataMatrixCode. The code is then counter-scanned in order to verify its contents.
A conveyor belt transports the test object to the unloading station. Here the test object is identified one last time by the RFID system. Final assembly activities are performed on "good" tested test objects, supported by the worker guidance of the Elution® software. "Bad" tested test objects are disposed of in a corresponding faulty parts box.
