Seven at a stroke
Seven mobile testing units for partially automated safety and functional tests and one fully automatic testing system have been supplied to a well-known manufacturer of network connectors and distributors, for testing power distribution boxes with internal fuses.
Partially automatic testing units
The system consists of a universal tester in a 19"/12 HE system rack with an integrated connection panel. The feed line and the output sockets of the distributor are linked by means of adapter cables to the testing system. A continuity-measuring channel is connected to an input socket on the rear of the connection panel for that purpose. The testing system can be used to run high-voltage, insulation resistance, earth conductor and continuity tests, and an ELCB test. Instructions can be inserted in the testing sequence to assist the operator. The testing system is entirely computer-controlled, with a graphic user interface for Windows 2000, and a network connection to the customer's intranet. Operation of the system during the tests is computer-guided. Loading the individual software components (testing program, test schedule administration, user administration etc.) is carried out by means of a menu system. The tester's name and password are requested when the system starts, to protect against unauthorised use. The creation of testing schedules enables the testing system to be adapted to deal with new or modified products. The parameters of the item to be tested can be freely set within prescribed limits.
Tests using the universal tester:
Earth conductor resistance measurement (PE2):
0 - 350 mOhm / >10 A
Insulation resistance measurement (IS2):
0 - 3.5 / 35 MOhm
High voltage test (HV2) in compliance with DIN EN 60335:
0 - 5000 V / max. 3 mA
Continuity test (DGT):
24 V DC
Earth leakage circuit breaker test (FIT):
500 / 300 / 100 / 30 / 10 mA
Integration into Elabo TaMo mobile component rack.
The 'back' model from Elabo's TaMo modular M-Frame system was chosen for the implementation of this project. The supplementary track wideners for the 125 mm diameter rear castors give this model a high level of stability and tilt resistance.
The vertical utility ducts with opening covers can be used to accommodate multiple sockets and are accessible on the inside via large brush strips. A mounting rail with a ball-mounted VESA standard adapter plate has already been fitted to take a TFT monitor.
Fully automatic testing system
In addition to the functions of the mobile testing unit, this testing system, mounted in a 19"/43 HE rack, offers a fully automated measuring system with a total of 8 continuity measuring channels, which are connected to input sockets. For this system, models 90-2A, 90-2E and 91-1B were selected from the Elabo range of standard testing devices, and configured according to the customer's requirements. The network connection of the control computer to the customer's own intranet is carried out by radio. A test label printer is already included in the system.
Tests:
Earth conductor resistance measurement (PET) in compliance with DIN EN 60335 with 90-2A:
0 - 300 mOhm
Insulation resistance measurement (IST) in compliance with DIN EN 60335 with 90-2E:
0 - 10 / 100 MOhm
High voltage test (HVT) in compliance with DIN EN 60335 with 91-1B:
0 - 5000 V / 0 - 7000 V DC, max. 3 mA
Continuity test (DGT):
24 V DC Earth
Leakage circuit breaker test (FIT):
500 / 300 / 100 / 30 / 10 mA
