Mönchengladbach fire brigade chooses Elabo
when performing safety and function tests, maintenance work and other tasks
“We need to test submersible pumps, digital radio devices and other equipment in accordance with the relevant standards.” That was the wish list with which Johannes Wilde, Service Manager for the four fire stations in Mönchengladbach in Northern Germany, approached Elabo when he was given the task to set up a new facility for measuring and testing technology. His was a heavy responsibility because the service workshop maintains all the equipment for the 282 staff of the professional fire brigade and the 572 members of the volunteer and youth fire brigades - equipment that must function perfectly in the event of a fire.
With our efficient planning, our standard-compliant measuring and testing devices, our short set-up times and our easy-to-reach, clear layout of the equipment, Elabo impressed not only the users but also the City of Mönchengladbach. They were also impressed during the initial briefing and start-up procedures - so much so that the Elabo personnel received a personal "thank-you" email from Mr. Wilde.
"I thought that an expression of thanks was more than justified because everything went off very well indeed," said the Service Manager, also in conversation with his technical adviser Thomas Kochems.
We are happy to return the praise: Mr. Wilde and his team had a clear vision of how to achieve a smooth transition to digital radio communication, and they came up with numerous helpful suggestions - all of which made the planning process so much easier ... and by the way: The 102 members of the youth fire brigade in Mönchengladbach would like to hear from anybody interested in joining the fire brigade service, which was founded in 1901.
